Abstract

Algae (lat.Algae) is a heterogeneous ecological group of predominantly photoautotrophic unicellular, colonial or multicellular organisms that usually live in the aquatic environment, systematically representing a collection of many departments. Entering into symbiosis with fungi, these organisms in the course of evolution have formed completely new organisms - lichens. The science of algae is called algology.
