Abstract

The article examines the development of debates in Uzbek literary criticism in the 70s of the twentieth century, their role in the development of literature, as well as discussions in the literary process of that period. The participation of literary scholars S. Mamajonov, O. Togaev, N. Khudoiberganov, U. Normatov, B. Imamov and others in debates and their attitude to literary and theoretical problems, to the work of fiction is analyzed.
